Let’s start from the beginning. Sept. 5, 2006 DIRadio born under the Distinctive MMG umbrella. Jan. 2007 DIRadio was renamed DIRadioCast for legal reasons. The brand was created by Africa Allah as an air check for Atlanta’s V-103FM. The show was formated to appeal to the 24 plus market providing commentary, creative reviews on new music from a profession standpoint, exposure to international music and celebrate classic urban music. The show idea was rejected by the Radio One station but received a huge response by the internet audience with one thousand plus downloads in 72 hours. Keep in mind this was 2006 before downloading content was a widely practiced trend.

After seeing the response of the program Africa Allah continued producing DIRadio on a weekly base with her co-host D-Yale. Summer 2007 the show was reaching almost 3 million fans worldwide and talks of expansion began. Aug 2007 the producers add a video component to the their popular Dutty Talk segment as a result of a conversation with Monster Cable’s Kevin “Sincere” Mucthison. Sept. 2007 DIRadioCast Celberated it’s one Anniversary with Hip-hop pioneer Grand Master Jay, Bizzy Bone and a number of indie artists from the midwest. The event was taped and streamed live via synclive (pre ustream era).
Sept. 2007 DIRadioCast introduced 5Star General DJ’s, DJ Ghost and her Ladies Room show there began the introduction of DIRadioCast programming and what is now known as the DIRadioCast Urban New Media Network.
