Social Media can help you validate your creditability just by sharing your experiences.
Ten years ago no company would have freely offered up information about how their operation was ran or suggested the services of other companies that, they weren’t in bed with. Today many companies operate with a certain level of transparency.
Professionals are now connecting on social sites offering free consultation via new media (Vlogs, Blogs, Podcast), forums & mircoblogs. While one would assume this would take away from their value it has actually add a new level of value.
As managing partner of DistinctiveImpression MMG I have always been quite selective in the information that I shared relating to the network and the direction of it until Oct. 2010. It was during the MuMo conference that I realized how valuable our experience in this budding new media industry can be. At that point I started looking inward to restructure our message in an effort to make it more comprehensive for the general public. This require research, social conversation, testing and more research.
Every theory, every idea was discussed in public forums and tested on our network. As a result, we have been offered speaking engagements, secured new media clients and attracted a variety of new content producers for the network.
The biggest issue was helping the general public understand the depth of what we do as a network, not just a radiocast. Since our inception in 2006 we have always operated under the definition of a new media network. Using Audio, video, blogs , photos and social media to execute and promote our message. Now thanks to changes in the corporate culture and accessibility to internet via mobile device more people are seeing the value our industry making companies like DistinctiveImpress MMG and its #GFDI network the go to guys in a new social culture.
